Skip masseuse nasu battle
On the mission The Blind Masseuse . u can skip the boss fight ! . once in the trainin area ( before the bosses room ) , kill all guards ( stealth is much better than havin guards on ur tail ) . on the map a red dot will mark a door . DO NOT GO THEIR ! . take the room at the right hand side of rin . ( a guard is in their . he will not move even if the alert is raised . so u can sneak in ( takes some amount of skill and perfect timein ) or a poison dart to the head will do the trick . go down the path and a cut scene will show rin killin nasu .
if u went to the dot ( like i did 1st time round ) u will have to fight him ( quite hard since he is a brilliant swordsman & keeps movin and blockin ) . this saves health meds and time .

Best Rating
to get the best ratings in tenchu . u need to stealth kill ALL enemys . not to kill any civilians . not spotted at all . it is quite easy to get when u get used to it . try and get it on all lvls . as u get a lotta items , and a new special item as well . u know when u have it when the rank Grand Master ( Ayami ) . or Assasin ( Rin ) comes up .

Pit Fight Mode
Successfully complete the game under the normal difficulty setting.

Alternate intermission sequence:
Hold L2 while watching an intermission sequence from the "Encyclopedia" screen to see Ayame or Rin with their armor.

Tutorial as Ayame:
Hold L1 and select the "Tutorial" option.

Unlockable Special Weapons
The following Two weapons can be unlocked by first finding them while in Story Mode. There is one unlockable weapon for each character. Once you have the weapons and complete the missions they will always be available in your Item Selection Screen.

Ayame's Dokuto Blades weapon:
In Chapter 7.1 or 7.2 of story mode, get to the room across from the Boss battle room. Note: Do not use the shortcut, or this room will be sealed.

Ayame's Fake Rat:
Complete Chapter 10-1 or 10-2 with a "Grandmaster" rank in Level Select mode.

Ayame's Sleeping Gas:
Complete Chapter 12-1 or 12-2 with a "Grandmaster" rank in Level Select mode.

Rin's Decoy Whistle:
Complete Chapter 11 with an "Assassin" rank in Level Select mode.

Rin's Demon Claws weapon:
In Chapter 8 of story mode, cross the bridge then move left along the wall. Double jump over to the little outcropping/ledge to find it.

Rin's Fire Spell:
Complete Chapter 9 with a "Assassin" rank in Level Select mode.

Special abilities:
Collect the indicated number of scrolls in story mode to unlock the corresponding special ability.
